Britton struggles against Summerfield

BRITTON — Britton Deerfield’s varsity football team’s overall season record fell to 0-5 with a 41-0 loss against visiting Summerfield on Friday, Sept. 23.
The Bulldogs accumulated 433 yards of total offense to the Patriots’ 205 yards.
BD quarterback Justis Kimerer completed 5-14 passes for 50-yards and had one intercepted. Mitchell Logan had three pass receptions for 22 yards for the Patriots. BD’s Gaige Suydam had one reception for 34 yards while Alec Dusseau had one reception for no gain.
Tanner Handy led the Patriots offense with 61 rushing yards on 14 carries. Handy had 16 carries for another 50 yards. Logan added 27-yards on five carries while Jake Burk had 11-yards on five runs.
Logan led the Patriots’ defense with eight solo tackles. Handy had six tackles while Dusseau had four.
Logan averaged 13.5 yards on four kickoff returns for a total of 54 yards.
Summerfield led 13-0 after the opening quarter and closed the first half leading 27-0. The Bulldogs added seven points in both the third and fourth quarters to seal the Tri-County Conference victory.
The Patriots play next at Morenci (5-0, 3-0 TCC) on Friday, Sept. 29.
