Blanche Ivan

Blanche Ivan, age 95, of Britton passed away June 23, 2016 at Tecumseh Place in Tecumseh, Mich.

She was born January 26, 1921 to Joseph and Antonia (Kozney) Cevora. Blanche was a 1939 graduate of Chadsey High School in Detroit, Mich. In 1939, while serving as maid of honor to her sister, she met Martin Ivan who she married in 1941. Most of her adult life was spent as a mother and farm wife supporting the operation of Ivan Brothers Farms.

Blanche was known for her support and love of her family. She is survived by her four children, Donna (Jerry) Benedict of Decatur, Ala., Kenneth (Shirley) Ivan of Britton, Dianne Szymanski of Milan, and Dennise (David) Grinnell of Cheboygan; nine grandchildren, Wendy Wiggens, Kelly (Michael) Tighe, Nicholas Ivan, Jessica (Loyd) Pitts, Ryan (Angela) Grinnell, Kari (Andrew) Cislo, Jennifer (Denver) Parker, Andrew (Krystn) Grinnell, and Benjamin (Aimee) Grinnell; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Alexis Archer.

She is survived by a brother, Charles Cevora of Taylor.  Also, a special family, Vojta and Mana Studnicka and their children, Petr (Shayna), Irena and Kamila (Ronald).

In addition to Martin, her husband of 64 years, Blanche is preceded in death by her sister Elsie Trenasty and brother Joe Cevora; grandson Tim Benedict and son-in-law Ron Szymanski.

Visitation was held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan, on Sunday, June 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. where funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday June 27.

Burial followed in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Britton Congregational Christian Church or Hospice of Lenawee.
