Betty Phillippi

Betty Phillippi, age 78, of Tipton, died Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Herrick Manor in Tecumseh. She was born June 15, 1936, in Chicago, Ill., to Sigurd and Laura Peterson. On November 20, 1976, she married D. Dwain Phillippi in Ann Arbor, Mich., and he survives. Betty was employed as a special education teacher, a school social worker, and spent the majority of her career as a clinical social worker and the owner of Adrian Psychotherapy Associates. In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her children: Lori and Gary Pollitz and their children; Brittany, Austin, Chris and Mikaela Pollitz; Phil and Cheryl Gamber and their children; Nathan Gamber, Meghan (Jared) Gamber Andrews and Grace Gamber; Dan and Jackie Gamber, and their children; Ben and Ellen Gamber; Bob Phillippi; Mickey Okasinski and children; Joe (Amy) Okasinski and their children; Logan and Elizabeth, Ami Okasinski, Mike Okasinski, Jennifer (Sean) Lambert and their children; Hunter and Trenton, and Lisa Okasinski; and Dennis and Liby Phillippi, and their child, Angela Phillippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter at birth, and a sister, Doris Paszkiet.Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tecumseh, with Rev. Gordon Peterson officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial of cremains will be in Tipton Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Home and also on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com.Memorial contributions may be made to Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tecumseh.
