Betty J. Higgins
Betty J. Higgins, age 90, of Tecumseh, passed away October 5, 2015.She was born March 4, 1925, in Tecumseh, Mich., the daughter of Clifford and Doris (Marsh) Campbell.Betty was a lifetime member of Tecumseh American Legion Auxiliary, Adrian Eagles Auxiliary and Tecumseh Big Boy Restaurant (owner of table No. 16). She also was a member of Tecumseh VFW Auxiliary. Betty started her working career with Hurd Lock Company, Adrian, Mich., and retired from Ford Motor Company with 33 years of service.She is survived by two daughters, Georgia (Gene) Gallant of Adrian and Mary (Gary) Valuet of Brighton; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and many more relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Pete;” two grandchildren, Colette Goble and Geno Gallant; great-grandson, Dylon Niner; two brothers, Harry and Dale; and sister, Flora Polly.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Bruce Jewett officiating. Interment will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
