Bernard “Bernie” F. Langmeyer

Bernard “Bernie” F. Langmeyer, age 64, of Deerfield, passed away May 23, 2015, at the Holland Hospital from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born October 3, 1950, in Adrian, Mich., to Paul and Karleen (Steves) Langmeyer. On May 14, 1988, he married Debra Wittman in the Deerfield United Methodist Church and she survives.Bernie owned and operated Red Maple Auto Body for several years, Red Maple Kennels, raising various breeds of dogs, he drove for UARCO and retired from UPS as a truck driver after 22 years of dedicated service.Bernie took great joy in his grandchildren, loved to hunt and fish, was a lifetime member of the NRA, the Teamsters and the Pheasants Forever Club, he co-owned and operated Pheasant Brokers, where he was currently raising pheasants.In addition to his loving wife, Debbie, he is survived by three sons, Alan Langmeyer of Deerfield, Adam Langmeyer of Charlotte, N.C. and Jason (Tracy) Langschied of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Amy Langschied of Keller, Texas; one brother, Kevin Langmeyer of Blissfield; four sisters, Kathy (Bob) Valdez of Blissfield, Marsha (David) Jach of Ann Arbor, LouAnn (Doug) Hagenbuch of Deerfield and Kaye Langmeyer of Deerfield; one brother-in-law, Dick (Linda) Wittman of Marquette, Mich.; three grandchildren, Emma, Kellen, and Jonah Langschied; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Allen Langmeyer. Funeral services for Bernie will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, at 4 p.m. at Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home in Blissfield with Patti Irons officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. at Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, Blissfield. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Pheasants Forever.
